Mount Kilimanjaro is among the most famous tourist attractions in Tanzania - whether you want to climb it or not, seeing the world's highest free-standing mountain is a must-have experience.
There are many famous game reserves, but the Serengeti is probably the best known due to the Great Migration. The Ngorongoro Crater is also recommended, due to its scenic appeal, as well as vast animal numbers on the Crater floor.
Don't forget the gorgeous island of Zanzibar in the Indian Ocean, which is also a part of Tanzania.
Scheduled Flights: The gateways to Tanzania is Dar es Salaam and Nairobi in Kenya. (Limited international scheduled flights also fly directly to Kilimanjaro.) Daily scheduled domestic flights link these gateways with Tanzania's wildlife areas.
Shuttle/Charter Flights: As this is the most popular way of covering the vast distances in Tanzania, there are very good internal scheduled (charter) flights between all major destinations, including connections to Nairobi.
Such charters are also available on a private basis.
